From Communications director

Janice Crosswhite, OAM

This is our first Update newsletter for 2020 as we have been in the process of changing website providers and transferring information to our new website: www.iapesgw.com.

At the same time we have increased our use of Facebook, posting every day, and lately Instagram. So look at our sites for regular coverage of current events and news items.

The Update will be produced bi-monthly so please continue to send your contributions to me at crosswhite@bigpond.com as soon as you have them. I will accept contributions at any time and use them every two months for the International Updates in May, July, September and November editions.

On March 8, 2020 we celebrated International Women’s Day which is always a time to celebrate the achievements of all women. We look forward to the future actions of the young women who are the influencers for a healthier planet. While still in school, many young women like Greta Thunberg — the climate change activist — are poised to make their mark while contributing to a complex and ever-changing world.

Older women need to help and support the younger generations, to call out injustices and discrimination — and continue to fight for gender equality in all aspects of life — as we do at IAPESGW in the areas of physical education, physical activity and sport.
