The conclusion of the Forum on Leadership, Inclusion, and Social Transformation of Women, held in Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil, marked an important moment for dialogue and reflection on women’s participation in education, sport, and society. The event focused particularly on the role of women with disabilities in education, sport, and dance, highlighting issues of inclusion, participation, leadership, and equal opportunities.

By bringing together national and international perspectives, the Forum reinforced the importance of academic and institutional cooperation and the need to expand opportunities for women with disabilities. The event strengthened a collective commitment to inclusion, equity, and women’s leadership, while creating new possibilities for future collaboration in Brazil and internationally.

Maria Luisa M. Guinto Honored for Her Contribution to Women in Sport
At the closing ceremony of the Forum on Leadership, Inclusion, and Social Transformation of Women, held on September 9 in Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil, five women were honored for their distinguished contributions to education, sport, and social transformation.
Following an evaluation of outstanding professional and academic trajectories in the fields of education and sport, the jury selected Maria Luisa M. Guinto, President of IAPESGW, as one of the five honorees, recognizing her international work in advancing and strengthening women’s participation in sport.
Throughout her academic and professional career, she has contributed to expanding discussions on leadership, inclusion, and equity, while promoting opportunities for the participation and recognition of women and girls across diverse sociocultural contexts.
The honor acknowledges the international scope of her work and her continued commitment to strengthening the presence and leadership of women in the fields of physical education and sport.
Brazil extends its recognition to Professor Maria Luisa M. Guinto on this distinguished honor, which highlights the significance of her academic and professional trajectory and her international contribution to advancing, strengthening, and expanding women’s participation in sport.
